What is Neutral Internet eXchange?

A Neutral Internet eXchange (NIX) is a physical point where different ISPs and networks meet to exchange data. The key element is neutrality. The exchange zone is not owned by any ISP, so all participants have equal access to the data exchange.

Neutral Internet eXchange for higher latency and throughput

Data exchange contributes to optimises internet traffic and increases its efficiency. Thanks to direct connections between different networks, data can be exchanged directly, which reduces latency and increases throughput. Neutral Internet eXchange is also important in terms of availability. Data exchange directly at the neutral site increases network availability because it is not dependent on a single provider.

Neutral Internet eXchange enables optimized and efficient data exchange between different ISPs. In the SafeDX data centre, we offer high-speed, redundant connectivity independent of a specific provider (Neutral Internet eXchange) for all delivered services.
